Now that Paris Fashion Week is over I guess it is time to get back to regular life . . . but not too fast! Let’s take a look at some of my favorite collections from the nine days of fashion.
Avant-garde Accessories
Alexander McQueen is always a top-notch show, and the fall collection continued that trend. I loved the lavish shades that covered the models’ eyes as well as the new-age belts that cinched the models’ waists.
John Galliano also wowed the audience with his boldly textured hats adorned by many models. The dramatic angles and cuts made each look dynamic yet demure.
Sensational Hairstyles
Bernhard Willhelm continued his graphic prints that were featured in the clothing onto the models’ hair, Literally! Each look was sculpted and transformed geometrically.
I don’t know about you, but any time that bold colors are seen on someone’s head and not as an accessory, I typically fall in love! So as the Junya Watanabe collection debuted, I instantly drooled. It really makes me wish my hot pink hair!
Simple Chic
Every fashionista has to love a simple collection that still captivates the soul, which is exactly what Hussein Chalayan accomplished on the runway in Paris. My absolute favorite was the bold orange, floor-length gown – which is crazy since I do not wear orange.
Lanvin also kept it simple on the runway. The sleek dresses ranged in fabulous colors and featured varying hems, but all revolved around one key aspect: uncomplicated glamour.
