Founded in 1960 by Valentino Garavani and Giancarlo Giammetti, the eponymous fashion label, Valentino, has grown and exploded on a global scale since its creation. Most known for couture clothing, shoes, accessories, scarves, ties but notably, bags and now, beauty. The company continued to make headway by launching Valentino Beauty in August 2021.

Valentino Beauty is known for its face, eye and lip makeup, but also for its men’s and women’s fragrances. Just this past year, the company released Green Stravaganza, an addition to the Born in Roma fragrance family.

The Born in Roma line began in 2019, blended together with notes of sambac jasmine, casherman and vanilla. Since its origination, the beauty brand has expanded into Yellow Dream, Coral Fantasy and now of course, Green Stravaganza

Each scent is meant to represent the various influences from the Italian capital, the founding home for the Valentino brand. The latest aroma is reminiscent of Rome’s lush green gardens, with varying levels of sophisticated scents.

The ‘Donna’ or feminine scent has a top note of Lapsang souchong tea, middle note of jasmine and a base note of vanilla. However, the “Uomo” or more traditionally masculine cologne has notes of amber, bergamot, coffee, and vetiver.

Even down to the Born in Roma perfume bottles, Valentino Beauty meticulously crafted each piece of the puzzle to align with the brand’s history and values. According to Vogue Australia, the bottle “pays tribute to the rock stud motif, which initially showed up on Valentino accessories.

The Donna Green Stravaganza lasts all throughout the day and night, making for a perfect floral signature perfume. The Uomo cologne has stronger earthy and woody accents, but remains timeless nonetheless.

Prices range from $35 to $165 depending on size, ranging from 10mL to 100mL on the Sephora and Valentino Beauty websites. According to Sephora’s website, there are over 1.6 thousand reviews with an average of 4.8 stars out of 5.

Valentino as a whole is proving success in the luxury sector. According to The Fashion Network, the company, “achieved a turnover of 1.4 Euros in 2022, up 15% from 2021.”  Furthermore, WWD states, “Valentino's beauty and fragrance business, licensed to L'Oréal, jumped 40 percent compared with 2021.”

Born In Roma’s newest scent Green Stravaganza is just one testament to the company’s continued success since 1960. Since beauty is a relatively new division to the company, partnering with the world’s largest beauty company can only aid in its expertise, focusing on the intertwining value pillars of color, cool, couture and beauty.
