Convenience is key for every college student struggling to find the right health and beauty methods. So often we find ourselves searching for ways to optimize our options without having to compromise our wallets, and so it is with these quick tips that we discover the tri-fecta of flawlessness through a healthy diet, glowing skin and a radiant face.
Oatmeal & Honey
While it behooves you to always have oatmeal on hand for a fast-fixed healthy snack, as well as some honey for the perfect mix-in with Greek yogurt. These primary ingredients also double as the perfect face mask, believe it or not!
First, you grind your ¼ cups of oats in a blender or coffee grinder so it softens the consistency of the mask. Add about a ¼ a cup of water to the grounded oats. Stir in two teaspoons of honey. Honey is an excellent treatment for acne, as it removes bacteria that accumulates on your skin. Apply to your face for about 10-15 minutes until you wash it off with warm water.
Bananas & Almonds
Almonds are a useful snack to have stored in your dorm. A handful not only kills any unnecessary cravings you might have as a college student, but still satisfies you in a healthy and yummy way! Bananas are low on calories, contain no fat and provide necessary nutrition with their fulfillment of
 your daily dietary fiber, as well as their obvious potassium offering. A quick home remedy involving these tasty snacks is the banana & almond hair mask.
Here’s what you do. Mash up one banana and add about 3 drops of almond oil to your gooey concoction. Mix well and massage into your hair. Let it sit for about 25 minutes, before you rinse and wash it out.
Carrots & Yogurt
Yogurt has natural probiotics–healthy bacteria that helps to boost your immune system and lower cholesterol. Yogurt is a filling and substantial snack for any living situation. Also, storing a bag of carrots in your fridge will prove to be an necessity, as they require no preparation and are rich in beta carotene. These two ingredients provide for one of the most hearty full-body masks.
In order to amplify the use of your resources with the carrots and yogurt that you should already have stored for snacking, you first puree three tablespoons of carrots in a blender to which you then add ¼ cup of yogurt and three tablespoons of honey. Once completed, draw yourself a warm bath and lather your face and body with the yogurt mask, allowing it to soak in for 10-20 minutes.
These instrumental beauty tips now allow you to not only just have your carrot cake, but to also be able to quite literally, eat it too.
