A James Bond film without a Bond girl is like a martini without an olive – dry and distasteful. Reigning over box offices since 1962, Bond girls embody the iconic femme fatal woman of glamour, seduction and sophistication.
With the Nov. 9th release of “Skyfall,” the newest edition to the cinematic Bond family, a shameless ode to the fabulous women of the Bond films is in order. Although many beautiful actresses have scintillated in the role of Bond’s leading lady, ranging from Halle Berry to Denise Richards, only five make the cut for the Bond Girls of All Time.
5. Kim Basinger (Domino Petachi)
The seductive mistress in “Never Say Never Again,” Basinger steals the show in the subpar, final appearance of Sean Connery as James Bond. The blond babe epitomizes an air of alluring beauty, taking the spot at number five on the list of Bond Girls of All Time.
4. Eva Green (Vesper Lynd)
A modern Bond girl in “Casino Royale,” Green deserves the fourth sport on the list with her ability to fill the shoes – and the underpinnings – of the Bond girls before her. Green’s portrayal of Vesper Lynd calls upon wit, intelligence, sex and glamour, all of which she tastefully symbolizes as a leading vixen.
3. Barbara Bach (Anya Amasova)
“The Spy Who Loved Me” beauty Barbara Bach became the first of a new, Bond girl breed when she played Anya Amasova, a KGB agent who matched Bond’s suave and skill. Her role as a paradigm breaking the good-looking-sidekick mold landed her in third place for the Bond Girls of All Time.
2. Shirley Eaton (Jill Masterson)
Dripping in gold paint and demure sensuality, Eaton takes her spot as number two with her performance as Jill Masterson in “Goldfinger.” On par for a Bond girl, there is something to be said for a woman who can bare it all after being dipped in gold paint.
1. Ursula Andress (Honey Ryder)
The Swiss darling typifies one of the most iconic Bond moments when she emerges from the Caribbean waves in a belted, white bikini clasping her coveted oceanic gems. Playing the role of Honey Ryder, Andress starred as the very first Bond girl in “Dr. No,” earning her right to the number one spot as the greatest Bond Girl of All Time.
