London Fashion Week Day 3

Although New York Fashion Week is still fresh in our minds, we are now looking across the pond to London Fashion Week to see what else we can expect come fall 2012.

London Fashion Week is in full swing and day 3 showed that sometimes less really is more, fur is not only great for accessories and jackets but skirts too and that we can still all expect a lot of color for fall.

Day three kicked off with Mulberry. The show not only had the best front row attendees of the day, but also the best fur in my opinion. The collection was said to be inspired by Where the Wild Things are, which is apparent in all of the fur clothing and accessories. The color palate was fairly neutral with a splash of orange thrown into the mix, but the real anchor of this show was the fur.

Next up, the ever appealing Twenty8Twelve collection. Pieces were definitely wearable, simple and influenced by a little 60s mod. Dresses were short and quite a few were waistless. We saw a lot of different, bright colors ranging from hot pink to kelly green.

Vivienne Westwood was a little more refined this season with her clothing and styling choices, but there was still plenty of her signature plaid to go around. I definitely got a British school girl vibe with all of the mixed plaids, stripes and colors. Westwood also accessorized with fake tattoos.

Recently named British Designer of the year, Jonathan Saunders did not disappoint in his fall 2012 presentation. Seperates were sleek, modern, polished, and minimalistic. Colors were bright and silhouettes were simple. Every piece in the collection was ready to wear. There were ankle zip pants, visors and of blazers and rising hemlines. It was definitely my favorite of the day.

Last, but not least was Matthew Williamson. Minimalism was a dominate theme throughout the show. The colors were bright jewel tones and there were quite a few prints, but the silhouettes were kept very simple. I did love his use of sheer fabrics though. He makes fall look and feel so pretty.
