Milan Fashion Week Day 1

The runway leaves London and moves to Milan. What’s in store for today? Gucci, Alberta Ferretti and Sergio Zambon to name a few.

Ms. Giannini definitely did Gucci’s collection some justice. Gucci’s collection didn’t stray away from the usual colors, but variety was apparent. What we saw was a lot of what were reoccurring themes that were shown in the New York: Military-style jackets, flat riding boots and high heel boots. As the show progressed, what appeared to be sleek leather ensembles then transformed into fur coats and jet colored feather garments. Dark glamour look? I think so.

Alberta Ferretti

Femininity. Masculinity. Mystery. Yes, all these words are the epitome Alberta Ferretti’s latest collection. From long leather coats to chiffon dresses detailed with satin bows, Ferretti showcased an array of garments that really raised eye-brows. Whether it be the leather detailed coats or the flannel coat that opened up the flowy chiffon dresses, Alberta Ferretti’s collection is indeed a beautiful enigma.

Sergio Zambon

Sergio Zambon’s collection, at least to me, was a breathe of fresh air. Nothing too extreme, just a lot of neutral colours like camels, taupes; the basics that enable easy layering and color splashing. Overall, it was a very well drawn out collection with a simplistic touch.
