Milan Fashion Week rolled on and proved that fall fashion will continue to have a wide variety of colors, silhouettes and details. Here are a few of my favorite collections from Saturday’s shows.
Bottega Veneta
Bottega Veneta was a very structured collection with little details that kept things interesting. Shoulders were square, skirts and pants were knee-length and slim. Colors ranged from black and grey to purple. I personally really liked the socks and shoes that gave the structured silhouettes a little dose of quirky fun.
Emporio Armani
Emporio Armani had quite the fun fall collection, full of rich fabrics and colors and a lot of dramatic accents. I loved all of the knee length shorts and the berets that topped off almost all looks. The collection had a lot going on and was a little hard to follow, but, it is definitely made for a fun, carefree woman.
Jil Sander
The Jil Sander collection was a beautiful, modern interpretation of 50s fashion. This was the last collection designed by Raf Simmons, who is said to be leaving the fashion house, and it was definitely a beautiful goodbye. Silhouettes were very minimal as was the color palette. I was definitely thrown off by all of the pastel colors for fall, but the collection was well received, the audience gave Simmons a standing ovation after the final walk.
Emilio Pucci
Emilio Pucci’s fall collection was all about sex appeal. There was sheer fabric, cut outs, and a lot of boyfriend jackets. Colors ranged from nudes to purples and everything in between. There was also a wide variety of fabrics used and fur even made it into the mix.
