New York Fashion Week Day 6

Yesterday at New York Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week the designers displayed a wide range of variety in colors, styling as well as hair and makeup. The shows were some of my favorite thus far in New York Fashion Week.

Tory Burch

To start off the day Tory Burch showcased prim and proper looks with the use of tortoise and floral details. The runway took place in a hotel lobby setting with floral wallpaper. The models wore smokey eye makeup and opted for natural lips. Her looks were clearly Chanel inspired. She showed her creativity for the fall season by designing hand-painted leather leggings in a variety of colors and finished looks off with peter pan collars.

Vera Wang

Vera Wang chose to use lots of sheers in her collection for fall 2012. She designed with neutral colors such as greys and blacks and contrasted those with bright blue and orange. Her designs were loose fitting with high necklines and oversized collars. Overall I thought the show gave off a very futuristic feel.

Badgley Mischka

Badgley Mischka really chose to embrace the dark and gothic theme. The models were made up with very bold makeup and wore teased, wild hairstyles. Their designs featured impeccable draping with metallic fabrics. They chose sexy silhouettes that gave the illusion of mystery. Altogether the show was very well executed.

J. Crew

As my favorite show of the day, I think J. Crew displayed exactly what I was hoping to be seeing on the streets for fall 2012. They used tons of color ranging from emerald green to mustard yellow. Their use of mixing prints was flawless. The tailored looks were donned with sequins, tweed and a lot of accessories. I thought the show flaunted glamourous and classy looks.
