The last day of Fashion Week in New York ended with two legends. Two men who have remained a mainstay in the world of fashion year after year: Ralph Lauren and Calvin Klein.
Ralph Lauren
Ralph Lauren’s Fall 2012 Collection looked like something out of olden-day England. What we saw was a lot of tweed, houndstooth, tall top hats and just about everything in between. Ralph Lauren’s inspiration for his collection was indeed England but more geared towards the romance and history of it all. Of course, he tied in a modern, edgy look it but kept the elegance that the classic English women’s silhouette has displayed decade after decade.
Calvin Klein
Calvin Klein, on the other hand, debuted a sleek, kempt look. Didn’t really take you back to a particular decade like Ralph Lauren’s collection but rather to a place in time you’ve never been before. Francisco Costa’s women’s collection for Calvin Klein showed off a bit of skin, which raised some brows. Lots of new fabrics: furry, fuzzy, metallics, you name it. Nevertheless, his runway collection never ceases to impress the crowd.
