Paris Fashion Week day six offered a range of looks, from accessible separates to whimsical hats and shots of deep, pigmented color. Including an array of established designers, day four gives insight into the upcoming trends for this autumn.
Akris
Akris provided a brighter perspective to the fall collections, highlighting camel as a major color. The graphic, structured dresses were a highlight, as well as shots of deep purple, orange and emerald.
Alexis Mabille
Alexis Mabile presented an eccentric twist on chic basics, embellishing separates with feathers, tulle and graphic prints. The entire collection had a wearable feel, and culminated in an array of cocktail and formal dresses in playfully sophisticated silhouettes.
Hermes
Hermés stuck with an androgynous look, featuring tailored trousers, brimmed hats and architectural outerwear. Among the grey and black were a handful of standout looks featuring richly pigmented reds, oranges and beautifully ornate patterns from head to toe.
John Galliano
As expected, Galliano presented a fanciful interpretation of fall fashion, presenting a show with a dramatic, theatrical element. The ornate headpieces, textured fabrics and sculptural hairstyles all contributed. Despite the multitude of unique details, the shapes were undeniably feminine, with cinched waists, short hemlines and visible hosiery.
Givenchy
Riccardo Tisci presented a dark interpretation of equestrian style on day four in Paris. Leather, straps and dark makeup were common denominators amongst many of the sharp, structured pieces. Occasional delicate elements, including embroidery and dainty slip-like dresses, provided an unexpected break from the tougher looks that dominated the collection.
