Paris Fashion Week Day 7

There is an old saying that Paris is always a good idea, and in the case of Paris Fashion Week it is no exception. The collections I’ve seen so far are definitely my favorite of all fashion weeks – there is a certain air of class, sophistication and structure that can only be found on Parisian runways and the 2012 fall collections were simply magnifique.

Does this woman know how to make beautiful cuts or does she know how to make beautiful cuts? The daughter of the most famous Beatle around was all about perfectly tailored boyfriend trousers or full skirts paired with paisley-patterned sweaters, structured tweed blazers, architectural trenches and classic color blocking.

Giambattisa Valli

Dramatic patterns, inviting textures and a slight hint of fashion evolution – Giambattisa Valli had it all. Very wearable day looks mixed with cool, fresh and modern dresses. His play with black and white textures made a definite impression.

Chloe

So much light femininity and buoyant ease here. Definitely one of the most ready to wear collections all day – her use of peaches, periwinkle blues and white silk and lace just made the entire collection relaxed yet high fashion – epitomizing the Chloe girl.

It was all energy put in Stefano Pilati’s last collection as YSL’s creative director. The very dark and futuristic collection featured a mix of leathers, dramatic silhouettes and striking metallic belts. The polished tuxedo suits were almost hauntingly quintessential of classic YSL as Pilati said his goodbyes to Paris and the renowned fashion house.
