Paris Fashion Week | Recap of Sept 25 Shows

Paris Fashion Week started up on Tuesday and designers hit the runways with their best foot forward. From flowing skirts to structured jackets; Fatima Lopes, Aganovich and Steffie Christiaens were among some of the designers to show collections.

Fatima Lopes

Fatima Lopes was not one to be color shy in her collection. Electric blue, lime green, and magenta lit up the runway throughout the show. Lopes showed a wide variation throughout the collection, presenting everything from formfitting dresses to the quintessential European bathing suits. Abstract patterns were incorporated within each of the pieces and enhanced by the eclectic blue pumps worn by each model.

Aganovich

Nana Aganovich played up the runway with futuristic silhouettes. The collection juxtaposed variational hems with pristine symmetry, and extremely well constructed pieces. The simple hair and make-up on the models created a blank canvas for the designer to present her innovative take on many classical pieces, like the trouser. A deep turquoise and shades of white formed the basis of the collection, and pink pastel shoes were worn on the feet of every model.

Steffie Christiaens

The Steffie Christiaens collection was haute couture at its finest. The architecture and manipulation of the fabric was phenomenal. Despite the only color being a pale salmon and blue, Christiaens collection was exciting and modern. The illusion of liquidity and flow of the fabric was highlighted through the artistic seam lines and tailored silhouettes. Christiaens displayed a wide variety of designs, placing a new twist on every piece. Barefoot, the models let all eyes be drawn to the garments and their eloquence.
