Day two of Phoenix Fashion Week presented ready-to-wear looks by eight more established and emerging designers! The prints were bold and the colors were just as cool as the night breeze.
Established Designers:
Gents
The Gents collection featured sporty attire with a masculine edge. Female models walked the runway in only tops resembling your boyfriend’s baseball tee, while male models rocked blazers and graphic tees. Each model sported a cap, paying tribute to the brand’s original hat line.
JHaus
Primarily a jeans brand, JHaus gave the country girl an edge. Dressed in combat boots and long necklaces, models showcased skinny jeans, cutoff shorts and jean skirts in all different washes. Throughout the show, a violinist engaged the audience by putting a classic twist on modern songs to compliment the brand’s new take on country fashion.
Paulie Gibson
Pairing plaid pants with pinstriped vests, Paulie Gibson wasn’t afraid to take risks. The entire collection updated your average business pant and sweater with a mixed variety of patterns and cuts . Some notable pieces that are sure to sell were embroidered pant pockets and a vest with a draped scarf overlay.
Bri Seeley
Feminine, flirty and romantic clothing flowed down the runway, designed by 2012 emerging designer of the year Bri Seeley. Each piece had a feminine flair, from pleated shorts to ruffled sleeves. The line payed attention to silhouette, with synched high waisted skirts and open-back dresses in pink and blue hues.
Emerging Designers:
D.P.C. by Dora Yim
This designer transitioned the audience into the second half of the show with effortless, simple designs. Models were dressed in business casual dresses and skirts using solid fabrics in subtle colors. Overall the collection was clean, but played with overlays over the shoulder and on the back.
Herbert Victoria
Caution: this collection is for the wild at heart. Using tribal prints and non-traditional cuts, the line was the most eccentric on the runway tonight. Despite the bold mix of patterns on off-the-shoulder tops and halter dresses, earthy tones unified the unique looks. A printed dress with a dramatic popped collar represented the designer’s unconventional point of view.
Proverbs of Efua
This brand helps stop human trafficking one cute work dress at a time! Taking inspiration form the everyday career woman, the collection put out modest and traditional pieces. Some dresses were collared and embellished with buttons, while others remained simpler while a solid mix of colors and clean lines.
Stephanie Gentry
A line of luxury fashion, silky pants and shorts with a beaded trim defined a dreamy concept for the collection. The entire line was made using silk fabrics and sheer flowy tops in pastels. The show had the perfect fairytale ending!
