Arizona isn’t typically known as a state with exceptional style. There are some fashionistas out there trying to change this, however. Natalie Davis, co-founder of Couture in the Suburbs (http://coutureinthesuburbs.com/), is one of these people. Couture in the Suburbs is a fashion blog committed entirely to following the fashion scene in Phoenix .
Natalie has an amazing sense of style that she showcases on her blog, proving that the truly stylish don’t just exist on the streets of LA and NYC. Her favorite trends for fall are leather pieces, high-low skirt lines and anything wine colored. Natalie showed The Chic Daily how she does these trends with three different outfits.
“Mixing textured fabrics gives any outfit a bit of dimension and bunches of personality. The key is keeping the colors neutral. It’s beginning to cool down in Phoenix, so I chose a chunky, military- inspired boot and cozy striped sweater to kick-start the fall season!”
Neutral does not mean safe or boring, as Natalie so clearly illustrates. The attention to detail is really what takes this fashion blogger’s style over the edge. She has an eye for mixing patterns and textures, never playing it safe. After all, fashion is fun, right?
“To say I’m obsessed with gold is an understatement. Throw gold on just about anything studded, and I’m in love. The flirty cutouts and high-low design make this dress my absolute fave! Sky-high platform booties are the perfect touch on this tough-girl, chic look.”
This Urban Outfitters dress is gorgeous on its own, but pairing it with the leather jacket really takes it to the next level. Natalie buys a variety of pieces that her eye is drawn to and figures out how to incorporate the pieces into her existing wardrobe.
“Being comfy never looked so good, right? Go-to suede wedges and leggings paired with a cranberry top – the perfect dose of color. This distressed, button-clad vest is easy to layer and never fails to be fierce.”
Natalie certainly knows how to play off of the current fashion trends while keeping a fresh and distinct perspective. Every look is layered to perfection and paired with sky-high shoes and statement jewelry…oh, and of course, fab sunglasses (like the Ray Bans in the first look)!
