It’s the most wonderful time of the year! The stress of staying up until 3 a.m. to study for your final exam, the fear in the back of the mind that you’re going to fail college and drop out, the lack of sleep and the constant feeling of being tired…

While college may be a stressful and busy time during December, it’s good to keep up the Christmas spirit in any way you can because it can help get you through these difficult times.

That includes decorating your dorm room for Christmas!

Adding some holiday decor to your dorm doesn’t have to be expensive, either. All of these can be found at your local dollar store.

Don’t have much time or money? Me neither. Here are some cheap and easy ways to make your dorm room more lively for the holidays.

  1. Merry Christmas! I got you a door

The cutest way to show off your Christmas decorations is with what everyone on your floor sees: your door! Wrap it in some wrapping paper, stick some bows on it, and cover it in tinsel.

  1. Lights Up by Harry Styles

Lights are a common pattern in dorm rooms. Why not switch them out with Christmas lights? The colorful lights will definitely put you in a cheery mood. You can also add more light to your room.

  1. It’s a Charlie Brown Christmas

Want a Christmas tree but don’t want the fire hazards that come with it? Simple: get a mini one! Mini Christmas trees are cute and won’t take up too much space. You can find these tiny delights for a reasonable price that won’t break the bank.

  1. Snow? In Arizona?

Yes, it’s possible… sort of. If you’re willing to spend a little more time, you can take a trip back to elementary school and make paper snowflakes. Dangling them from the roof is a cute and easy way to create a winter wonderland in the desert.

  1. Winter Through the Window

Decorating the window is an easy way to add some holiday flare. Adding holiday gel clings, sticking paper snowflakes, and framing the window with tinsel are some examples.

You can find Christmas decorations for the window on Amazon

Whether you’re studying for finals or getting ready to pack, don’t forget to keep up the holiday cheers in your own residences!
