SugarBearHair Vitamins Vs. Biotin: Which Supplement is Best for You?

Getting your hair to grow can be a struggle. Surely we’ve all dreamed of having Rapunzel length hair, but struggle to find a way to make that dream a reality. Many products claim they can give you your strongest and longest hair ever, but simply don’t deliver. If you’re anything like me, whenever hair growth is mentioned, two products come to mind: biotin and SugarBearHair vitamins. Both make a similar claim of accelerated hair growth, but just looking at the supplements’ appearances lets you know the two products take very different approaches. In my hair growth journey, I have found several similarities and differences between the two products written out below that I hope can help you decide which product is best for you.

The Cost:


A month supply of SugarBearHair vitamins costs around thirty dollars, while biotin, commonly sold in a two-month supply, rounds off its cost at around five dollars. That’s a pretty big difference that often can make the decision for you.



If you haven’t felt the social media buzz around SugarBearHair vitamins, I’d be surprised. But the company primarily advertises online because the product is only sold online, which can make it slightly more difficult to get access to. Biotin, on the other hand, is widely accessible and is offered in most convenient stores, pharmacies, and vitamin shops. And, because biotin isn’t its own brand, there are several manufacturers to choose from.



While I mentioned above that both products work – and they definitely do – I found more success with SugarBearHair vitamins than I did with biotin. While SugarBearHair vitamins don’t seem to relent in efficiency, my hair growth eventually plateaued with biotin. I found that these bear-shaped gummies made my hair both longer and healthier. Biotin solely supported length. Although, it is important to mention that biotin supports hair growth all over your body – not just on your head. So, if you’re looking to grow out your hair in other places (like your eyebrows or lashes), biotin may be your best bet.

The label:


Before you make your decision on which supplement to take, I highly recommend reading the labels. Doing so, in this case, leads to more differences worth mentioning. The SugarBearHair nutrition label has a lengthy list with some pretty important characters. Some of these include: vitamins A-E, zinc, folic acid, and – of course – biotin. The label also boasts that this product is vegetarian, gluten-, soy- and cruelty-free. The nutrition label for biotin is a little less complex, listing only biotin and calcium as its supplements of choice. But, like those little blue gummies, biotin is also gluten free.



Another comparison is how you take the supplements. SugarBearHair vitamins come in cute, chewable, blue gummies that taste super sweet. And, while I have seen chewable biotin gummies, most come in small capsules or pills to be swallowed, which just isn’t as much fun.


The sixth and final comparison I noticed between the supplements was the dosage. Biotin commonly comes in three measures of 1000, 2500 or 5000 mcg. (I opted for 5000mcg). In my opinion, the flexibility in dosage could be positive or negative. With the differing measures of strength, you can adjust your dosage to the rate at which you want your hair to grow. But, finding the right dosage can be a hard process of trial and error. On the other hand, SugarBearHair vitamins come in only one standard dosage and recommends that you take two gummies a day.

The choice is ultimately yours. Whichever quality you value most and whichever product you chose, you can be fairly sure your hair will grow. SugarBearHair vitamins seem to be the product for me, but that doesn’t mean biotin isn’t a force to be reckoned with. Either way, if you’re looking to accelerate or start your hair growth journey, my advice would be to give one (or both) of these products a try.
