The fashion world was shaken earlier this month with the shocking news that Grace Coddington is stepping down from her position as Creative Director at Vogue. No worries! She will now begin her transition into a new chapter of her life as Creative Director of Vogue at large. However, her tenure at Vogue will not be forgotten.
Many fashion critics attribute this decision to the dramatic modernization that Vogue US is undergoing. Grace Coddington began her career in fashion as a young girl.
Dreaming of a more glamorous life, she would eagerly wait for old copies of Vogue to reach her small town. She consumed fashion magazines daily. She was inspired by the travel and fantasy that the magazine instilled in her.

At the age of 17, she won a Vogue model scout competition and began modeling in London. After a tragic car accident, that left her with serious head injuries and a removed eyelid, she continued her work in fashion by working as an editor for the magazine.
In 1988, Grace Coddington moved to New York city and began working for Vogue US alongside the great Anna Wintour. Her time at Vogue US was characterized by Haute Couture shows, exquisite fashion editorials and cats!
