The Ultimate Back to School Playlist

By Gabrielle Hester

Back to school is here and in full swing! Classes have started and students are already piled high with projects, papers and assignments. I don’t know about you guys but, I sometimes lack the motivation to hop off of Pinterest and start my English paper. I love having a playlist that gets me motivated and in the zone. So I have put together the ultimate back to school playlist with hit songs that will get you inspired and make you feel like you can rule the world.

“No” by Meghan Trainor is the perfect girl power song to kick off our playlist. It has an upbeat vibe and an inspiring message. Next is pop sweetheart, Ariana Grande with her new song “Be Alright.” This song is full of reassurance with lyrics such as “every little thing is gonna be alright.”

This playlist wouldn’t be complete without a song by Queen B! Next is “Run the World” by Beyoncé. This song is the ultimate girl anthem with a beat that makes you want to get up and dance. I decided to take it back with a classic jam by Kelly Clarkson. “Independent” is the perfect fit for this empowering playlist. This song will make you feel like the girl boss you are!

Selena Gomez is known for her energizing lyrics that lift up every girl’s confidence. That’s why I comprised some of her hit songs like “Come and Get It” and “Kill ‘em With Kindness.” Everyone knows Lady Gaga is quirky and inspiring so I included “Just Dance!”

I had to incorporate some classic girl jams such as; “When I Grow Up” by the Pussycat Dolls, “A Thousand Miles” by Vanessa Carlton, “Pretty Girl Rock” by Keri Hilson, “I Wanna Dance with Somebody” by Whitney Houston, and “Hollaback Girl” and “Rich Girl” by Gwen Stefani.

Of course I had to include some new songs that will instantly lift your mood and make you want to dance like; “Greedy” by Ariana Grande, “Make Me” by Britney Spears, “Work” by Fifth Harmony, and “Roses” by the Chainsmokers.

The last few songs in the playlist will boost your confidence and make you appreciate life even though it can be hectic at time. Those songs are; “Bad Blood” by Taylor Swift, “Confident” by Demi Lovato, and “Alive” by Sia.

Well I hope you all enjoy listening to this ultimate back to school playlist as much as I enjoyed creating it! So go ahead and jam out this semester and see your motivation be at an all-time high! Don’t forget to keep it fashion forward lovelies!
