Trend Alert: Pairing Cheetah Print with Bright Berry Shades

The berry-cheetah trend is a hot topic in fashion this fall season, making an appearance everywhere from Glamor’s style section to White House Black Market’s fall clothing line. This trend is so popular because it collaborates with many different styles, it’s festive and it is a clever mix of color and pattern while retaining a simple elegance.

Ways to Wear It

A relaxed look could be created by pairing a slightly oversized cream or black sweater and a berry scarf, paired with tan cheetah leggings.

If you were looking to make the color dominant over the pattern, I would suggest going with a cream sweater, a deep cranberry scarf and light-tan cheetah leggings. When it comes to color, the deeper shade tends to be the statement piece. On your feet, boots would be the best shoe for this look. Tall deep brown leather, black suede knee-highs or UGGs are all encouraged.

The convenience of this look is that you can either leave it plain or accessorize in order to dress it up a bit. Gold, chunky jewels keep the outfit looking still relaxed, but more emphasized.

This trend is applicable in a more casual, everyday setting when it comes in the form of cranberry skinny jeans and a cheetah print top paired with black leather pumps, booties or tall boots. Again this can be accessorized with gold jewelry, but to keep this look elegant the jewels should be smaller.

This color and pattern combination can be worn in a business casual setting or even in a more casual setting such as school or dinner with your parents.

While this trend works in settings ranging from casual to business casual, it also can be worn in a more formal way. In White House Black Market’s fall collection, they include a black tank dress with a cheetah-print collar. Combine this look with burgundy accessories (tights, hair bows, headbands, lipstick, etc.), a tan or black blazer, and black leather pumps or heeled boots. Jewelry should remain simple, such as a strand of pearls and stud earrings.

As you can see, this trend can be applied to almost every style. Have fun with it and happy trending!
