When I first moved to Downtown Phoenix, one of the first tasks on my endless list of things to do before classes started was to find the best places to eat that are both close and convenient. The first place that I came across was the Desoto Central Market and I have been a frequent customer ever since.
The Desoto Central Market is a food court with six different independent vendors located in a giant warehouse on North Central Ave. It’s artsy, open, close to ASU and has so many food choices to choose from. It can be a little pricey but the atmosphere is always great and I have been happy with all the different foods I have tried. It is the perfect place to spend time with friends and family, work on homework, or to simply relax.
There is also a small little shop called MoonAge that has the cutest jewelry, soy candles and greeting cards. It is the perfect way to pass time while you are waiting for your food or coffee.
My favorites of the six eateries there are Radish and Tea and Toast Co. Radish has a variety of different salads, wraps, grain bowls, and juices to pick from. All of the staff are so friendly and all of the salads are prepared with the freshest ingredients.
The Tea and Toast Co. is a small café located in the front of the Desoto Market. They have a variety of different teas, coffees and pastries. Their tea lattes are to die for, and if you’re lucky, you will get a barista who can do latte art!
Not only does Desoto serve delicious food and drinks, but also they are always having different events going on. Some of the events include free yoga on Saturday mornings (tried it and loved it), trivia nights, pop up markets and wine tastings.
